The issue of the assessment of competence

A certificate of ATTENDANCE may be issued to delegates who are present throughout the course duration.

The acquisition of a certificate does not confer competence on the part of the person receiving the certificate. It merely confirms their presence during the presentation.

Assessment of understanding of the course content may be made by a written test and/or an interview such that the trainer can determine if the course content has been understood. In such cases a certificate of ASSESSMENT may then be provided.

This ASSESSMENT certification can be used as part of the employer's assessment of competence of an individual having undergone training and supervision. This would be within an organisation where authorities within that organisation may deem the individual as adequately competent to perform certain work for which training has been given.
